Ameraucanas are a favorite around here. We have them in all sorts of interesting colors. Blues,  Blacks, Splashes and a color introduced to us by a lady named Dee Brown, Salmon Ameraucanas. These are some beautiful birds, again from some very good stock, and our Salmons have been hatching some very nice looking chicks. Please, take a close look at what we have.

Salmon Ameraucanas
We have been working on the Salmon Ameraucanas for a few years. They are not yet back to APA standard, but we hope to have that acomplished soon. We are also working on getting them to breed true. So far, we have managed to get a higher percentage of the roosters hatching out to look like Lightning and the hens resembling the picture below. These chickens are the sweetest, most people loving birds that we have, and we are breeding to keep this disposition as well.

We had been working hard with these colors, but weren't satisfied with the results we were getting. So, we brought in some different stock from both Cree Farms and J&R poultry in MO. Still, it seemed as if something was missing. My sister, from "The Hatching Post" aquired a beautiful Black Ameraucana Roo from Vickey Thompson to replace one she had lost. He had many trials getting to her and you can read his story on her site. She felt that he was just what we needed. Boy, was she right!
